Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)

Install new pipe under roads, rivers, and structures — without breaking the surface.

Our Solutions

Horizontal Directional Drilling is the trenchless method for installing new pipe along a designed alignment beneath obstacles that cannot be excavated — roads, highways, railways, rivers, wetlands, or existing utilities. A steerable drill head is guided along a pre-planned bore path from one surface entry point to a remote exit point, then a reamer enlarges the bore while simultaneously pulling the new pipe into position behind it. HDD is suitable for a wide range of pipe materials and diameters, and the bore path can be designed with precision to navigate around existing underground infrastructure. It’s the preferred solution for utility crossings, infrastructure upgrades under developed properties, and any installation where maintaining surface integrity is non-negotiable.
